With a 1.5 to 2.5 hour investment of your time, our certified fit specialists will optimize your positioning to guarantee the ultimate combination of efficiency and speed. We have West Michigan's only Serotta Certified Fit Specialists. We guarantee your unconditional satisfaction with the outcome of your fitting.

Your bicycle fit means the difference between comfort and pain, fast and slow, safe and unsafe. Village Bike & Fitness is West Michigan's only Serotta dealer with certified fit professionals.  Our commitment to proper fit is evident in each of our four stores. We've invested over $30,000 in education and equipment.

A professional fitting is the perfect start for anyone looking to improve their cycling. Our fit professionals are detail oriented and trained specifically to assess your setup and fine-tune it to perfection. We share years of experience fitting cyclists from beginning riders to the sport's elite. We've fit some of the top road racers and triathletes in this area and scores of people who want to ride more efficiently and comfortably.  Read their stories.  Whether a new bicycle or your existing one, our Custom Fitting enables us to adjust your bicycle to achieve maximum comfort and efficiency. By evaluating your position and making necessary modifications to your bike, and coaching you through proper technique, our certified technicians will put you in love with your bike, be it road, mountain or triathalon.

 

What Should I Expect from a Proper Fit?

We start with a one-on-one interview to determine your aspirations, goals, capabilities, type of riding, and any physical limitations. This allows us to match the fit of your bicycle to you and your goals.

• Next we measure your hamstring and hip flexibility so as to accomplish a fit within YOUR range of flexibility.
• Once on the Serotta size cycle we start with your feet, making sure the arch is supported for better power transfer and comfort. We then align the cleat for optimal power transfer and proper stance width.
• Next we position your knee in the best position for your riding style and goals.
• We then use a laser to check lateral alignment of the hip, knee and foot.
• Our electronics provide Spin Scan which measure where you produce your power in your pedal stroke, and where you need to improve.
• Hip position and angle are crucial to dispersing workload and improving power. We explain and teach you how.
• The next step is making sure you ride with a neutral spine for optimal breathing and comfort. Our electronics measure your wattage output and show the power benefit to correct positioning.
• Proper positioning of the shoulders, arms and hands is imperative to optimal performance and comfort; we make sure this happens on our totally adjustable size cycle.
• Finally we make recommendations for your new bike or how to set up your existing bike for your enjoyment.

In the same time as a typical lunch meeting, we provide in succinct, exacting form, a vision of the bike your riding demands.

Custom Fitting including 3-D Video Analysis:
(available at our Plainfield and Jenison locations)

1.5 - 2.5 hours............................................................$275

If you choose to purchase a bicycle from us of a value over $2500, we will deduct the price of the fitting from the bike price.
If the bike is under $2500 we will deduct $75 ($125 with video)
